How To Choose Running Shoes In 2019

Running in my concept has always been the most convenient, but also very effective, almost suitable for everyone to exercise, it does not require equipment, no need for harsh venues, can be carried out anytime, anywhere, do not know Do you agree?

The only thing I can think of is that running requires clothes and shoes, but who doesn’t need it? Of course, the most important thing is running, but if you need it, let’s talk about how to pick a pair of running shoes. Before that let’s start with a disclaimer: There is no single running shoe that is perfect for everyone. But with a little knowledge, it is possible to find a shoe that will be perfect for you.

Before choosing running shoes, you need to understand before

  1. Foots, not only because feet are the only part of the body that touch the running shoes, more importantly, it directly affects which running shoe you are suitable for. We will explain it in more detail later. Keep on reading.
  2. Types of Running Shoes, some people will wonder how the shoes are distinguished? Usually you can find the type of it in the description
  3. Some brands and Running Shoe suggestion, you can skip this part if you don’t like, but we prefer to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Let’s understand foot first

Our feet are basically divided into three situations, the corresponding running shoes will be a little different, includes:

  • Normal Arch
  • High Arch
  • Flat Arch

Foot Arches

Low Arch (Flat Foot) is usually accompanied by Pronation, and High Arch is usually accompanied by Supination (refer to the image below).

Foot Arches

How to measure my feet arch?

This is one relatively simple way to find out the right pair of best running shoes. All you need is wet your feet and stand naturally on a surface that will leave a mark (like paper). Then you’ll get your footprints. Find out what kind of arch you have by referencing the picture below!

Foot Arches

For Pronation and Supination Test

Look at the sole wear, for Pronation: the inside of sole will be worn more heavily, for Supination: The outside of sole will be worn more than inside. e.g.

Foot Arches

Left foot, High Arch, stress when running.

Foot Arches

Left foot, Low Arch, stress when running.

In fact, this is very simple, right? With the knowledge of your feet, let’s start the next step.

Types of Running Shoes

  • Stability Shoes: Best for runners who exhibit mild to moderate over pronation. The runners are with a normal arch.
  • Cushion Shoes: These shoes for runners who do not need any additional arch support. Moreover, these shoes provide some shock absorption and some medial (arch-side) support.
  • Motion Control Shoes: Motion control shoes are the Best Running Shoes for runners who need a lot of arch support. Some super-cushioned shoes provide as much as 50% more cushioning than traditional shoes for even greater shock absorption. However, best for runners with a normal arch.

We have a relatively simple way to make a choice. For Normal Arches people, The Cushion Shoes and The Stability Shoes are the best choices, For High Arches, The Cushion Shoes is better, and For Low Arches people, the Motion Control Shoes is more suitable.

There are also some other types of running shoes. Like barefoot shoes and minimalist shoes, they encourage a natural running motion and a midfoot strike and provide the bare minimum in protection from potential hazards on the ground, yet still offer cushioning and flex.

This is a great video to finding the right pair of running shoes.

Tips: It’s better to choose your shoes in the afternoon because the feet will swell at this time.

Finally, price is an important aspect. A quality shoe are certainly not at the lowest price. Of course, the most expensive one is not necessarily the best, or the most suitable. Generally, it is only possible to find the right shoe after you try it. With a little experience, you should try different brands, even you don’t familiar with them.

Are you feeling good? Then we will talk about some brands and running shoes. There are too many brands and running shoes in the market. Even we spent more than 50 hours of research and compared more than 100 running shoes, this is only a small part of them, hope these can help you make a decision.
